FAWEMA EMBARKS ON GIRL CHILD RESTORATION

The Forum for African Women Educationalist (FAWEMA) embarked on training school mother groups on the role of promoting girl child education.

FAWEMA disclosed this on Friday,25th August 2023 during the project of Innovations in Health, Rights and Development (iHEARD).

According to Project Officer for FAWEMA coordinating iHEARD project, Clement Kwaule said the previous trainings have indicated a great improvement and outcome.

“The trained personnels are able to attain the skills through trainings on how to monitor and evaluate their work,”said Kwaula.

FAWEMA facilitator,Christina Katantha emphasized that there is high expectation in making sure that girl child education is promoted in all angles as many have shown interest to join hands with FAWEMA in up bringing the livelihood of girls.

On her part, one of the participants who is a beneficiary of the trainings organized by FAWEMA, Agatha Alikanjelo chair of Ndevu mother group has disclosed that before the internvention of FAWEMA to uplift girl child education there were so many challenges encountered as there was no hope for girls.

Has applauded FAWEMA for the good job done in identifying the gaps that have been there for so long, and there is improvement since the internvention of FAWEMA.

Among other issues the project is targeting the clubs that was established in three districts which include Lilongwe, Dowa and Ntchisi. The project is funded by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) to be implementantion in Dowa district under Chinkhwiri Zone.
