FAWEMAโ€™s first cohort of 200 TEVET participants, enrolled last year under the FAWEโ€“Mastercard Foundation Bursary Programme, is currently undertaking internships in various public and private institutions across the country. This is in line with Government requirements for TEVET students and forms an important part of their training journey.

Through these internship placements, participants are able to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom, strengthen their technical competencies, and acquire practical, hands-on experience in real workplace environments.

The programs include automobile mechanics, brick laying, carpentry and joinery, fabrication and welding, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), plumbing, electrical installation, solar photovoltaic, and general fitting and motorcycle mechanics.

To monitor progress and provide support, FAWEMA recently conducted visits to a number of internship sites, engaging with both participants and host institutions to appreciate their experiences and learning outcomes.

Here are some highlights from our recent monitoring visit.
