FAWE Malawi (FAWEMA) staff this week took time away from their busy schedules to participate in a two-day training on Safeguarding and Resource Mobilization, aimed at strengthening organizational capacity and sustainability.
Organized by the FAWE Regional Secretariat, the training was facilitated by Mr. Crispus Natala, Safeguarding Officer and Mr. Douglas Masika โ Resource Mobilization Officer, both from FAWE.
The training explored various aspects of safeguarding and protection, emphasizing the importance of creating safe environments for both staff and programme participants.
Participants also discussed strategies for effective resource mobilization, highlighting the need for innovative and sustainable fundraising approaches at a time when many organizations are experiencing donor fatigue.
Speaking during the opening of the training on Thursday, FAWEMA Executive Director Mr. Wesley Chabwera described safeguarding as a critical component of the organizationโs work.
โFAWEMA works with vulnerable populations, most of whom are girls and women who require protection and support. It is therefore important that we create safe spaces for both our staff and programme participants,โ he said.
Mr. Chabwera also noted that the resource mobilization component would help sharpen staff membersโ fundraising and partnership-building skills, enabling the organization to remain competitive and attractive to potential donors and partners.
The training, which ran from 16โ17 July, was attended by all FAWEMA staff drawn from the organizationโs districts of implementation across Malawi and was graced with the presence of the FAWE Africa Executive Director, Dr Martha Muhwezi who encouraged unity and teamwork among the staff.FAWE Malawi (FAWEMA) staff this week took time away from their busy schedules to participate in a two-day training on Safeguarding and Resource Mobilization, aimed at strengthening organizational capacity and sustainability.
